A short note about why we make this little leather keepsake, and who it's really for.

The letter

We grew up in a house that always had a dog in it. Golden retrievers, one anxious spaniel, a rescue mutt who thought she was a cat. Every one of them left the same thing behind in a drawer somewhere: a small envelope with a curl of fur inside.

We never really knew why we kept them. We just did. When a kid went off to a new school, when someone moved cities, when the dog was too big to bring on the plane, that little envelope always came out.

"The best things in a house are usually the smallest ones. A collar tag, a squeaky toy, a tiny lock of fur."

A few years ago, in a tiny workshop, we made the object we had always wished existed. A leather charm with a small window, sized for a wisp of fur, tough enough to live on a keyring for years. Something you would actually carry.

Pawch is not only for goodbye. It's for the puppy who arrived yesterday, the senior asleep on the couch, the school run, the interview you've been dreading, the flight where they can't come along. It's a way to keep the companion you love close, always.

We hand-stitch every one for dog and cat families all over the world. If you're here, thank you. Really.
